The title says it all. As soon as you feed one of these delicious vegan cupcakes to your friends, they will immediately question why they’re not vegan too. And, if your friends are vegan, they will simply bow down and ask to borrow this amazing little book of best-kept-baking-secrets from you.

For the veggies that have been around the block, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World author Isa Chandra Maskowitz has also brought to you Vegan with a Vengeance awhile back (another fab cookbook review to follow). For those of you newbie vegans who still experience withdrawal every time you pass the cookie tray at work, then this book is for you.

I’ve fed countless friends and family members these delicious treats and have yet to disappoint a crowd when randomly selecting a new cupcake recipe from this book. My hands-down, absolute favorite vegan cupcake recipe – just in time for the fall – is the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Cinnamon Icing.

Other recipes that I’ve tried so far and absolutely loved, include:

  • Sexy Low-Fat Vanilla Cupcakes
  • Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Cinnamon Icing (humina, humina)
  • Coconut Lime Cupcakes
  • Banana Split Cupcakes

So, if you have a vegan potluck coming up and need a dessert to bring or if you’re sick of co-workers assuming you eat nothing other than rabbit food, pick up this book and get busy in the kitchen. There are lots of cute recipes and cupcake decorating tips and techniques for upcoming holiday parties. Enjoy!

Sticky Fingers Bakery seeks liquor license!

Posted by on Sep 7, 2011 in Food, News | 0 comments

You may, in the near future, be able to have a beer or glass of wine with you cupcake!!! Its like a dream come true, sweets and booze!

According to a recent interview with Doron, owner of Sticky Fingers Bakery, by the City Paper. Sticky Fingers Bakery said they are the process of applying for a liquor license!

The article talks about how Sticky Fingers has had booze cupcakes in the past but the amount of alcohol has ben very low. Getting a liquor license would allow them to get a little more crazy with their booze cupcakes. Along with the boozy cupcakes they would be able to sell Organic beer and wine.

If your reading this Doron…DC Vegan Drinks would love to help you out when this does happen! Keep us updated!
