Hopefully you were able to make it out to Poplar Spring this past Sunday. This was their 14th annual open house and fundraiser. There was live music, food, silent auction, face painting for the kids, and lots of wonder animals! Seemed there was a very good turnout this year, if you missed this event they have their annual Thanksgiving with the Turkeys pot luck event November 19th, this is my favorite event of the year lots and lots and lots of delicious Vegan food to eat, make sure you put it on your calendar now! Poplar Spring’s 14th Annual Open House / Fundraiser

My favorite animal sanctuary is having their 14th Annual Open House / Fundraiser next month (Sunday, September 25th)! I love going out to the farm its so beautiful out there. I know a lot of you have been out there at least once but I know there are a lot of you that have never been out there, for lack of car or you may not have ever even heard of Poplar Spring. Its a little ways away from DC, in a place called Poolsville, MD. Its about an hours car drive from DC, it is also possible to go there by bike. I personally have not road from DC to Poplar Spring. But I have ridden out there many of time, as I use to live out that way, its beautiful bike riding.

If you havn’t been out there I would encourage you to try to get out there to visit or volunteer. The open house is one of their biggest events of the year, probably tied with Thanksgiving with the Turkeys in November (Saturday the 19th, mark your calendar), the ultimate potluck! That is an event never to miss.
