We’re Gearing Up for a Meat-Free Three-Peat!
February 6th to 13th is DC’s third annual Meat-Free Week. Meat-Free Week is a week-long celebration of vegetarian and vegan foods, each day featuring a special at a different restaurant in the Washington area. Some restaurants offer specials on current vegan and vegetarian items or donate a percentage of sales to charity; others use the weekas an opportunity to debut new vegetarian items.
This year, the organizers of Meat-Free Week are extending an invitation to our readers to nominate restaurants that you would like to participate! Specials may be as simple as a free dessert with a vegetarian entrée, or as spectacular as a new vegan tasting menu. It doesn’t matter if the restaurant doesn’t offer veg foods yet — should the restaurant wish, chefs are available to help add new veg items or revamp their classics! All approved participating restaurants will receive a listing of their special and be included in all press releases. The “best of the best” will be highlighted in dedicated stories on DC Vegan.
If you are a restaurant interested in participating in Meat-Free Week or have additional questions, please email me, at amber at dcvegan dot com. I will happily work with you to design something unique and exciting to bring lots of attention to your restaurant during Meat-Free Week!
